Dwarf Mondo Grass, also known as Dwarf Lilyturf, is an evergreen perennial in zones 6-10. This mounding ornamental grass grows approximately 1 foot tall and wide and is a popular alternative to traditional turf grass. Mondo Grass prefers shade and moist soil which makes it an excellent choice for hard to plant in areas of the garden and lawn alike. Inconspicuous blooms appear in the summer months and produce small blue ornamental fruits. When used as a lawn alternative, Mondo Grass can be mowed on a high setting once a year during the active growing season to manage growth.
